About Parking Practice

Empowering Learner Drivers Worldwide

Welcome to Parking Practice (parkingpractice.com), an interactive 3D browser-based driving simulator designed specifically to help beginner drivers and driving test candidates master essential parking maneuvers.

Our Mission

Parallel parking and reverse bay parking are notoriously two of the most stressful parts of taking a practical driving test. Traditional instruction relies heavily on real-vehicle practice, which can be expensive, limited by lesson schedules, and intimidating for beginners who fear curbing wheels or causing vehicle damage.

Our mission is to democratize driver education by providing an accessible, risk-free platform where anyone can visualize vehicle spatial geometry, practice reference points, and build a working mental model of where the car is before getting behind the wheel of a real car.

What Makes Our Simulator Different?

  • Physics & Spatial Accuracy: Built with WebGL and Three.js, our 3D engine models vehicle turning radius, mirror views, steering and blind spots for a typical passenger car.
  • Real-Time Coaching Guidance: Unlike simple arcade driving games, Parking Practice acts as a virtual driving instructor in your passenger seat, offering step-by-step prompts on steering lock angles, reversing alignment, and stopping points.
  • Zero Friction & Instant Access: No downloads or app installations needed. Anyone with a web browser, smartphone, or tablet can start practicing in seconds.
  • Multi-Input Support: Supports keyboard controls, touchscreen virtual joysticks, and external gamepads.

How Our Guides Are Written

Our guides are general information about common parking techniques and reference points taught to learner drivers.

Driving test rules are set locally and differ between countries, and in the US and Australia between individual states and territories. Distances, angles and space lengths in our guides are examples, not official requirements. Always check the current rules from your own testing authority, for example:

  • United Kingdom: DVSA: what happens during the driving test
  • United States: the driver handbook published by your state's DMV (each state sets its own test)
  • Australia: the road authority for your state or territory

The simulator uses one fixed passenger car. Its size, steering and mirror views will not match every vehicle, so reference points must be re-checked in the car you actually drive.

Disclaimer: Parking Practice is intended as a supplemental visual learning tool. We strongly encourage all learners to complete practical behind-the-wheel training with a certified driving instructor.
